Sally has also been involved in publishing as a book designer, producer, editor, and marketer of regional titles for Pfeifer-Hamilton Publishers, Ridgeline Press, and most recently (2007), started There and Back Books, publishers of Minnesota North Shore guidebooks, with her partner, Andrew Slade.
In the late 1980s and 1990s, she worked at H.T. Klatzky and Associates, a full-service advertising agency, as an art director, moving on to account management where she wrote and designed for print, radio, and television.
Sally earned her B.A. in Communication and B.F.A. in Art from the University of Minnesota.
On most projects, the best design solutions come from persuasive, intelligent writing. Sally partners with writer Gail Trowbridge and believes projects always benefit from having Gail involved.
